Beautiful Morning

I thought this sign was really cute:
I saw it on a walk I took this morning with my beautiful baby girl. Prom? anyone? I decided September is definitely the month to take walks in the morning with your little baby. It was a beautiful, sunshiney morning and even though it was really, really windy it felt fabulous to be outside and feel summer coming to an end. This is Ruth at the beginning of our sojourn. She's wide-eyed and ready to take on the world:
This is her at the end. I think she was a bit tuckered out: (and did you notice her beautifully soft baby cheeks? I took her to the doctor because her rash was getting worse and spreading to her neck and ears, and they said she had some baby eczema and prescribed a cream...and already it looks so much better! YAY!)
I am so lucky that I get to take such a beautiful baby on walks with me on such a beautiful morning! I didn't get anything on my to-do list completed, but I think I'd rather take a walk with her any day.
And PS She slept for SEVEN hours straight last night, and it wasn't even in our bed...which is where she usually sleeps for the longest amounts of time. It wasn't in her crib either...but we'll consider her swing a compromise.

Blessing

We had a wonderful blessing day. When Sterling held Ruth up in church everyone did a little 'aww' and it was so cute! We especially loved having all of our family come and enjoy the day with us. Thanks for bringing food and traveling and being there! (PS I posted all of these pictures for Kayli's benefit...only it took me SUCH an incredibly long time to upload (thanks to this computer) that I didn't enlarge any of them, which I meant to do.) The first picture is the BEAUTIFUL dress that Aunt LaVerle made for Ruth. She also made my blessing dress. So precious. Poor Ruth still has a rash on her cheeks. I thought it was getting a lot better on Saturday, and then yesterday it started looking worse again. Sigh.

This last picture Andrea was using my camera, but it was dying. It goes Ruth, Devaney, Harriet (continued), Jack and Sebastian. Somehow, she had it on video mode, instead of picture mode. So we got this lovely picture of Harriet slow-motion falling backwards. Haahaa! Aunt Megan bought us (everyone?) a BYU outfit and wanted pictures of all the new babies in them. Ruth's was ADORABLE! Plus, with all her red hair she looked absolutely gorgeous in the navy blue (I've never had her in navy blue before). Oh, and I think you can see her red hair REALLY well in the picture of Sterling holding her.
