Unfortunately, our September ended with no a/c. It didn't work one Sunday and it was 97 degrees outside and felt like a sauna inside our house. So we drove up and down the A1A (along the intracostal, not the actual ocean, but one island inland) to take advantage of our vans a/c and eventually stopped at this shaded park. It was right off the intracostal which meant BREEZE and it was completely shaded, so even with the extreme heat, we were able to enjoy it for a bit!

The playground is back in that cluster of trees. It was so pretty looking back at it from the beach. |

They had a little library at the park with a Ramona book. |

The park was in a really neat neighborhood where all the houses reminded us of Pinecrest, near where we lived in Miami. |
Luckily, our a/c miraculously kicked back on that night and we slept in relative comfort. They came to fix it in the morning and replaced something and declared it fixed. Until the next morning...when it stopped again. It was 97 degrees and they couldn't get approval from our manager fast enough to fix it that evening. So. There may have been some very heated discussion in our household as to the necessity of a hotel. The pregnant woman won out. I was so, so, so drained I couldn't even think straight. Russ had a heat rash on his arms and under his armpits and around his neck. And the thought of feeding the kids and getting them ready for school there in the morning had me in tears. IT WAS SO HOT. Luckily it was fixed the next day, and I spent the time while they were fixing it at the mall getting one last Christmas present (Christmas is finished! YAY!) and at the gym--both blissfully air conditioned. They have now fixed three major things in both the outside and inside of our a/c unit so I think we are good to go. And this week the weather dropped 10 degrees so it is high 80s instead of high 90s, so life is much, much better. Haha.
