Vernal December 2020

Because blogger is ridiculous, nothing ever loads in order anymore. Sterling and I left the kids with mom and dad and drove to Vernal for two days by ourself and then the kids came out the last day and met us at the Planetarium in Utah County. The first day we met a lot of people at the hospital, went out to lunch with Stormy-the hospital coordinator we were meeting with--and then had an entire evening to ourselves in a hotel--it was AMAZING. It felt like an incredible date night that was completely paid for by someone else, haha. We drove to the Vernal temple and all through the town (that took approx. 5 minutes) and then Sterling picked up Cafe Rio and we ate in bed and just chatted and enjoyed each other's company. The next day we met another dr. for breakfast and then a different one for a drive up to Flaming Gorge and the hiking and fun places around Vernal. It was gorgeous. That night we had dinner with the hospital director and a few drs and their wives (it was a blast) and then headed back to our hotel. Again---it was just amazing to have a night alone!!!! The next morning we drove from Vernal to the Aquarium and met mom and dad to get the kids. They took the kids there and then out for pizza and then to a bowling alley and played all the arcade games (it was such a fun afternoon and we had it all to ourselves due to COVID). We stopped at Cabella's for a minute to show the kids all the stuffed and live animals and then they surprised the kids with the Heber Valley POLAR EXPRESS! Definitely the highlight of the trip. The kids were just amazed the entire time. Such a perfect memory. We slept that night at Megan's and then headed home the next day. What a whirlwind trip but SO FUN!

The Polar Express!
