Kids Fair-Patch Reef Park-Spring Break Day 2

This was a somewhat spur-of-the-moment thing, and I am so glad we did! I knew there was a Kid's Fair, but I wasn't sure what that would entail. The flyer said free arts and crafts and there would be rides. So I prepped the kids in the van beforehand--we can do all the crafts guys, but no rides, not this time. Then we got there, and nothing was free. I met a few disgruntled people about the lying flyer. Most arts cost $5 each and were just junk. Each ride was $5 and that just wasn't even worth it. I was going to turn around, but then I thought--it's Spring Break. We might not be going on vacation or doing anything else really fun, but we can do this. So I bought them wristbands--which meant unlimited rides all day long. It wasn't the cheapest, but compared to the $5 per ride, it was definitely a far better value. Especially because it was a rather small fair and the eight rides that were there were PERFECT for my kids' ages and they had no lines. My kids would jump off a ride and run around to the entrance and get right back on again. It wouldn't even go a ride inbetween them. They loved it. They wore themselves out for five hours straight. And they talked about it forever. Memories made. And it was awesome. I loved it.

Will is waving from the inside and Ruthie and Molly are in the back. They are all in swimsuits because there was a splashpad at the park they had set this fair up beside.
This car one was Molly's favorite. By her 9th or 10th ride she would poke the people in front of her and yell at the people behind her to go faster! haha.

I thought this boat would just go back and forth but then it got all crazy and went sideways. I thought the kids would be scared, but even Molly liked it! I didn't go on any rides, just watched with Russ, so I was glad they didn't need my moral support up there!

This was another fun ride, though you can't tell by that mopey Will. He wanted to get in the first jeep, because it was blue. A girl had already got in, so he scrambled in beside her, pushing her little brother out of the way. Of course, I told him he had to let the little brother sit by his sister, and Will was not impressed. He literally did not smile the entire ride--kids got staying power.

The kids loved this one!

This one did only go up and down. They liked it. Will was still moping from the previous jeep ride.

Poor kid sat in a stroller all day. He was an amazingly good sport about it!

Ruth and Will got brave after five or so times of riding this one and held hands--it was so cute!

I'm sad I only took video and not a picture, but there was a tiny roller coaster--even tinier than Lagoon's baby roller coaster--that was a dragon. It was flashy and exciting looking and it was the very first one they went on. Ruth did not like it. At all. Will loved it. So Molly and Ruth would go on the car one over and over while Will went on the roller coaster over and over (these are small rides and they were directly beside each other, I was literally 20 feet away from both rides and could see my children at all times). Then at the very end Ruthie decided to try the roller coaster again and loved it, so in the last ten minutes of the fair they rode it three more times. Cuties.

We did go over to the splash pad afterwards and let them cool off because it was really hot that day. The hottest day of Spring Break. They were ready to keep playing for hours (it was almost dinner time and they'd only had backpack snacks, no actual meal for lunch) but the baby was fussy so I called it and we headed home. That night when Sterling walked in the door the kids were watching Miles from Tomorrowland (we hardly ever do tv) and all the remains of dinner was still on the table, and I was asleep on the floor amidst all the kids. HAHA. Yup, wore mom right out!

Now we don't have to do Disney World, right?!?!

Pool Day-First Day of Spring Break

These two. Ruth is such a sweet big sister and big helper!

Haha I like how I caught the water going directly into Molly's mouth. That girl is getting to be such a great swimmer it's crazy! And Will too--last time we went swimming he was treading water in the middle and coming up for multiple breaths and totally killing it with awesomeness!

Tuckered out after all that sun.

Ruthie's little bun was the cutest the other day.

A bit o' March phone pics

The flat tire, as discussed in the previous post.

These two in this cart. Russ was seriously in seventh heaven!

He asked me to draw him a T Rex so he could paint it. Then he put it on his wall and it just might be his most prized possession. I love how much he loves it!

He slept through my entire run. I died of heat, and he took a nap. Good job, Russ!

This kid loves a few things with all his heart. He's always been this way. Right now it's the color blue (this has never wavered), T Rex, and space. When I saw this shirt at Walmart for $3 I just saw that grin on his face.

Playing can be really, really tiring.

For several weeks at school Ruthie's kindergarten class was learning about kings and queens. They had a king and queen picked each day that got to sit at a separate table and help the teacher. When she was picked---it made her whole world, she was soooo excited!!! At the end of their unit they had a royal ball and got to wear all their princess clothes--I went in the morning and helped set up, but the boys had dr appointments, so her friend Annabelle's mom sent me a pic of the two of them. Ruthie came home and told me ALL about it!

Awhile ago Ruthie got a new dress and I told Molly she could pick out one of the target $5 ones too. But no, she wanted this Wonder Woman tshirt. She is a HUGE fan of Wonder Woman and this exact outfit combo is what she wears every single time it's clean and in her drawer..and sometimes even when it wasn't. She knows what she likes! Three years old and all the confidence and sassiness in the world. I love her so much!

Russell can do EVERYTHING but a normal crawl. He definitely gets around. I'm not sure what the benefit of this particular plank was, but it was adorable.

Helping daddy fix some things.

Sterling took his family med test on Friday morning, worked on some projects and then came home for a fun weekend with the fam! (He started surgery on Monday so...goodbye for three months, love!) We built a fort and rented Ferdinand off amazon. It was a really cute show.

The next day, they watched cartoons while I taught some cute little Chinese kids some English--and then we headed to the park and the splash pad!

Some 50 cent corn dogs for National Corn Dog day!

Russ thought they were sour!

That night, Saturday, we had friends over for a St. Patrick's Day dinner--we had cabbage and corned beef soup and they brought homemade smoked pastrami that was the stuff dreams are made of. We put in on some of my homemade bread, and had soup and sandwiches. Best meal ever. After we got the kids in bed we stayed up too late playing games--and laughing so hard my cheeks hurt! I don't know what we're going to do without Jeff and Diana but they sure are the greatest!
