Easter + a little zoo

Last Tuesday we had an egg hunt for playgroup. It was really fun- except Will has had a slight (BIG) problem with hitting and shoving lately, so he did not get to participate. Although I did let him line up for the photo, and then Ruthie gave him an egg. What a nice sister.
Ruthie was excited that some of the older kids got to come and play too because school was out for Spring Break.

She is sooooo sweet.

Oh baby Molly. What WOULD we do without you?
The next day we headed to the zoo. It was really hot and really crowded due to Spring Break. Luckily, we headed straight to the splash pad and had a grand time. But first--the kids got to pet a baby gator!

And now, for Saturday morning--when the Easter bunny arrived!

Books!

Yup, she cheeses like that even first thing in the morning!
Next on the docket was dying eggs. The kids had such a great time with this that we saved the dye and did it again on Sunday afternoon!

Then, the lucky ducks, got to go to another egg hunt with daddy to the YMCA. Ruth  has seen the signs at the gym for the past month that announced the egg hunt, and she faithfully reminded us every single day that we had to go to the gym on Easter! (luckily, they gave out a lot of little things like stickers, and not very much candy)

Good lookin'.
Their books are the Little Golden Book Collection--which I was very excited to add to our collection. Will was, of course, thrilled about Thomas the Train and Ruthie likes her disney, but my very favorite is Molly's original Golden Book stories. They are hilarious. Did anyone else not know that in the REAL story of Chicken Little, Foxy Loxy EATS Goosey Loosey, Turkey Lurkey, Henny Penny, Chicken Little, etc. and then lies down with a very fat belly and NO ONE TELLS THE KING THE SKY IS FALLING?! I was laughing so hard we had to reread it immediately.

And then, because you haven't had enough photo overload already, some Sunday photos:

Giving Molly kisses.

It was a REALLY great Easter. My sister sent us an Easter book/cd and we have had it on repeat ever since. Ruth can almost sing the 'Gethsemane' song all the way through (maybe we should cover it and be famous like the other fb toddler?!?) and she asks to play the 'egg game' (ya know, the one with 12 eggs filled up with things that are symbols of Christ) every single day. We talked a lot about the resurrection and it was so sweet to hear Ruth understand and apply the resurrection to our own lives. Having the General Relief Society meeting on Saturday night was just the icing on the cake. I bawled through the entire thing. Literally. They had a little shindig beforehand and my friend Brittany sang a special number and I was BAWLING and that just opened the flood gates for the rest of the night. The church is so good.
I know that The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints is the true church on the earth today. I feel so incredibly blessed to be able to listen to the prophets and apostles speak the messages we need to hear from the Lord. I am especially grateful for the Holy Ghost and how it makes those messages personalized for each of us. I am SOOOO stoked for General Conference this next weekend.

Other things that have been happening: I got a spring cleaning bug and spent yesterday taking our entire house apart by moving furniture, kids toys (the toy kitchen and table are now upstairs), shelves, etc. and basically trying to make our house look LESS crowded without actually getting rid of anything, haha. I also cleaned bathrooms, so yay for me! We had a rainstorm this afternoon that felt TOO much like rainy season and I am not ready for that. Playgroups at parks, walks outside, errands, piano lessons, gym classes, joy school. It's been pretty busy. But really great.

Happy Easter everyone!
