Boynton Inlet-Labor Day

It seems like a lifetime ago. But before Hurricane Irma it was Labor Day! And we had a REALLY wonderful day. Sterling had the day off because he is in ophthalmology rotations right now and they run at office hours. We were so excited! I had heard from a mom at Will's school that we should try out Boynton Inlet. It was a pretty big letdown as far as the inlet--there is a playground, but the actual beach by the playground was smaller than a pool and already crowded and as dirty as Willard Bay in Utah. BUT...luckily there was more! It was FREE parking and you just walked across the street in the other direction than the inlet and you were right on this gorgeous beach with a pier and everything.

We got up early and cleaned the house and then grabbed chocolate milk and donuts on our way. We ate them at the inlet so Will could look at all the boats docked and then walked over to the beach. Pretty much the most perfect way to start a day!

I had over 400 pictures of the waves on my camera when I came home. The water was crystal clear and it was so fun to see it come up and roll over and feel like you could just see through it like glass. Hopefully I got it down to an appropriate amount, haha.

That water!!!!!! Those waves were just BEAUTIFUL! The kids were a little scared. There was actually a sign posted to watch for the rip current and it was not joking. I feel like Palm Beach County always has a lot more waves than Miami (its supposed to be good surfing here) but this day was particularly large waves.

This was all Sterling. And talk about coolest picture ever!

He was very proud of this sand castle. And it did take a lot of work! He was looking for the perfect bucket-shape. But then realized you couldn't put another bucketful on top and keep the bottom one nice. haha.

After a wonderful morning at the beach we came home for lunch and Sterling studied. I secretly made a cake and threw a party for him---he was surprised, even though he'd seen a text on my phone that kind of let the cat out of the bag. It was not the greatest party, but I think we had fun. We had some games, a barbecue, and friends from Miami, our new ward, and Sterling's school over to our complex park. It was very hot and muggy and buggy and miserable. Oh well--can't change that too much. I didn't take any pictures (I know, what?!?!?) but here are pictures of him blowing out the candles that night for just our family.

I am so jealous of that water and that sand. The beaches here just don't compare!
